Radiant greetings and a Bon Annee to all HCGC myrmidons,
No longer over-glozed with snow and enjoined to peer over the parapets of sastruga we are back in business for 2010. Or, to put it another way, we’ve re-opened after the Christmas shutdown.
And so it is once again time to winnow the flames of our horticultural ardour and embark on new and nascent floricultural caprices. It’s nearly spring I tells ya! And on that note – Onion and shallots, garlic and (new to HCGC) mushroom kits just in! Get ‘em while they’re hot, they’re luvverly.
2009 was the best year ever at HCGC but 2010 will be cocking a hearty snook at it, we’re going to do even more – there’s going to be LOADS going on this year! Our biggest ever project is going to be launched this month – all around local food and getting people growing their own, more new projects aimed at refugees, women and older people and we’re about to start building our brand new and beautiful ‘eco-classroom’, we’re getting a new all singing and dancing compost loo (phew, al last!) and some, hopefully, MEGA surprises later in the year. We’ll give you more details very soon. It really is going to be a cracker! Keep an eye on the (ever evolving and quite wonderful) website for details of our bigger and better events program and hopefully some free courses in the not too distant. Blimey.
In a brief respite from blowing our own brass section, some news from our dear chums at the lovely Debdale Eco Centre with whom we are delighted to be partnering in the local food project, they have some great opportunities employment-wise. Please see the attached job ads and contact the fair Valerie directly should you be stirred to do so!
We, of the HCGC parish, look forward to seeing you all in the coming months and a big, big thanks for your support last year. You’re lovely. All of you.
Aw shucks.

**If you can make anything for us to sell, then please contact me**
We understand it is very last minute, but the people of Haiti are in desperate need of our help, and anything you can offer will be much appreciated.
